So I’ve arrived in New York City, and am currently living in Queens.  I’ve had and will continue to have a pretty minimal internet connection, so these posts will by necessity be occasional.  Soon, though, I’ll move into a neighborhood with some good wi-fi to steal, and that’s when the blog will just fucking BLOW UP.  Still, some thoughts:

-I graduated.  After a pleasant few weeks of not doing work and buildering (see below), it was most definitely time to at least give the appearance of productivity and ambition.   I gave my mom my diploma so I wouldn’t lose it.

-The drive to New York from Minnesota is long.  I did it the same way I did it last year, with a stop at the truck stop stripper hell of Austintown, Ohio.  I wish never to make that drive again, at least not without better audiobooks and/or drugs.  (Murder on the Orient Express is almost impossible to follow while driving.  So many characters, so much “intrigue”…it’s a mess when you’re also trying to not hit other cars.)

-Biking into Manhattan from Queens takes 70 minutes, and is not worth it.

-My website, www.paulcaine.com, is up.  It’s still way under construction.

Okay, it’s time for me to go be a respectable member of the Flushing community.  I don’t know exactly what that means (although it probably involves maximizing the topiary presence on a given 1/8 acre lot), but I’ll do what I can.

Peace.
