It’s always nice to see Carleton folks take the things they did at school and, upon graduation, kick them up a notch.  Gospel Gossip is still killing Minneapolis, and now some assorted music-minded former Carls have started a band, Dinosaur Feathers, that aims to rock the face off of Brooklyn and beyond. They’re not bad at all…their sound is like Paul Simon with a touch of Animal Collective, with gorgeous three-part harmonies that quite frankly should be more prominently featured.

They’ve not played much, but this show, being somewhat related to CMJ, was well-attended, and I think people were getting into the songs.  Totally worth it, the fact that it was free notwithstanding.
